Psyche.nu was purchased in late August 2002 to serve as my personal domain. In January 2003, I
made psyche.nu my main collective.
The primary reason I bought psyche.nu was because I love Greek and Roman mythology. I've been fascinated
with classical myths since I was a child, and one of my favorite stories is that of Cupid and Psyche. My
favorite mythological goddess is Pallas Athena,
and I was upset at not being able to get athena.nu when I had the chance, so when I saw that psyche.nu was
available, I decided to get it. I don't regret it one bit. I was actually able to register athena.nu in
2009 (♥), but I think psyche.nu will always be my domain for as long as I have websites. ♥
Psyche, in Greek mythology, is the personification
of the soul. "Psyche" is also the word for "butterfly," which is why Psyche the goddess is often visually
depicted with butterfly wings. The word "psyche" also can be used to refer to the mind. If this
network had a second name (it doesn't), it'd probably be the "Butterfly Soul Network."
I've been creating websites since 1996, and
my
oldest site is over ten years old. Admittedly, I don't have much inspiration or talent for web design,
but I do what I can. I love
domain names, and I
have probably owned about 40 in my lifetime. My current interests are in the manga series
Hagane no
Renkinjutsushi (
Fullmetal Alchemist),
Claymore,
Bleach, and
Hellsing, but
I am also interested in
anime and manga generally.
Although I don't watch much TV, my favorite series are
Stargate
SG-1,
Stargate Atlantis (Seasons 1
through 3),
The X-Files,
Psych,
House,
NCIS,
Scrubs,
Futurama, and
Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I also love collecting
doujinshi, playing
video games,
listening to music, making
fanlistings, and writing fanfics.
You can find me hanging out at
The Fanlistings
Network, where I'm the Games: Applications/Troubles and Mythology/Religion: F/U/C staffer, and at
The Anime Fanlistings Network, where I'm a
Senior Staffer, the Movies/OVAs staffer, and the General staffer.
Version four of psyche.nu features a beautiful image by talented Taiwanese artist Chen Shu Fen. The image
comes from Chen's artbook
Sweet Days and was found at
Aethereality. Fonts used are Porcelain and Selfish. The layout was designed in Paint
Shop Pro 9, was hand-coded in Editpad, and is XHTML Transitional Complaint. It's blue and simple - there's
not much else to say, other than it'll probably be around for a few years, given my track record of rarely
changing layouts. <3
If you need to contact me, you can always . Alternately, you can
instant message me on
AIM. I've actually never received any questions about this domain, so I'm going to assume that a
FAQ is unnecessary <3
